Privacy Policy

The Privacy Policy (the “Privacy Policy”) governs how ValChoice, LLC (“ValChoice,” “we,” or “us”) collects, uses and discloses personal information from its clients and business contacts (“you”) when you use the ValChoice.com website (the “Website”) and other ValChoice online applications, products and services (collectively, including the Website, the “Services”)or when you otherwise interact with us. This policy does not apply to the information that our clients import into our Services, such as the email addresses of their customers. For information about our practices with respect to handling our information imported into the Services by our clients, please consult our Terms of Use.

We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will revise the date at the top of the policy and, in some cases, we may provide you with additional notice (such as adding a statement to our homepage or sending you an email notification). We encourage you to review the Privacy Policy whenever you access the Services or otherwise interact with us to stay informed about our information practices and the ways you can help protect your privacy.

Types of Personal Information We Collect

We collect contact information. For example, we might collect your name and street address if you register for our Services, and we might also collect your phone number or email address if you submit a form indicating your interest in particular products or services. If you choose to invite friends to use our app, we will collect their contact information.  When you indicate that you would like to be contacted via telephone calls, text messages, and similar communications regarding products and services in which you are interested, you will be presented with a notice explaining the nature, revocability, and other aspects of your consent to such communications. Although you will see that notice on your screen, we are pasting a copy of our current notice below, for your reference:

  • “By clicking the button below, you consent to receive communications via live telephone, an automatic dialing system, artificial or pre-recorded voice or message, or text message from ValChoice or its subsidiaries, affiliates, service providers, business partners, or agents at the telephone number provided including your wireless number (if provided) as well as via email regarding your insurance options including Auto Insurance or Home Insurance. You also consent for insurance agents to obtain and use your insurance score to provide insurance quotes. Your consent to receive communications in this way is not required as a condition of purchasing any goods or services. Your telephone company may impose additional charges for text messages, and you may revoke your consent at any time through any reasonable manner. You acknowledge that you have read and understand all of the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy of this site.”

We collect information you submit or post. We collect the information you post in a public space on our site, such as when you review an insurance company. We also collect information when you contact us.

We collect demographic informationWe may collect information like your gender, age, date of birth and marital status. We may also collect your zip code. We might collect this when you contact us, use any of our applications or enter a promotion.

We collect payment information. We, or a designated third party, may collect payment and credit card information when you purchase our paid Services or purchase additional services.

We collect additional information depending upon which services you are interested in. For example, if you request information about car insurance, we will collect additional information including information about your vehicle. If you request information about home insurance, we will collect additional information including information about your homeowner status and the property where you live. We also collect information about your current insurance coverage.

We collect usage and device/location information.  If you use our Website, we may collect information about your use of the Website, including the browser you’re using, access times, pages viewed, your IP address, and your general location. We might also look at what site you came from, or what sites you visit when you leave us. We may also collect information about the computer or mobile device you use to access our Services, including the hardware model, operating system and version, unique device identifiers and mobile network information. On our app, we may collect information about your location, including saved locations. This may include your precise location. We may collect this using different types of technologies, including GPS and Wi-Fi. If you use our apps, we may also access your device’s location information in the background. How We Collect Personal Information

Collection of Information You Provide to Us

We collect information you provide directly to us. For example, we collect information when you create an account, request insurance quotes or other information, participate in any interactive features of the Services, fill out a form, interact with a message board, apply for a job, request customer support, or otherwise communicate with us. You may have the option to share a picture of your driver’s license barcode which we will use to collect information about you from third-party providers.

Information We Collect Automatically When You Use the Services

When you access or use our Services, we and our service providers automatically collect information about you using tracking tools like browser cookies and web beacons, both on our Website and in emails that we send to you.

Cookies are small data files stored on your hard drive or in device memory that help us improve our Services and your experience, see which areas and features of our Services are popular, and count visits.   Web beacons are electronic images that may be used in our Services or emails and help deliver cookies, count visits and understand usage and campaign effectiveness.

We use these technologies for a variety of reasons, including to recognize new or past customers; to improve our website and to better understand your visits on our platforms; to observe your behaviors and browsing activities over time across multiple websites or other platforms; and to better understand the interests of our customers and our website visitors.

Our Do Not Track Policy: Some browsers have “do not track” features that allow you to tell a website not to track you. These features are not all uniform. We do not currently respond to those signals. If you block cookies, certain features on our sites may not work. If you block or reject cookies, not all of the tracking described here will stop.  Certain options you select are browser and device specific.

Integrations with Other Services

You may have the option of integrating our Services with other services, technologies or platforms on your desktop, permitted websites and/or your mobile phone. For example, we may offer you widgets that have countdowns to various launches. These integrations may require you to input personal information or access or use personal information. These integrations may (i) check for updates automatically and transmit your information to their server and/or engine; (ii) send information entered into or accessed by the technology to its server and/or engine; and (iii) be visible to the public if embedded on publicly available webpages (such as social networking webpages), depending on the policies of that website.

Personal Information We Collect From Other Sources

We may also obtain personal information from other sources and combine that with information we collect through our Services. For example, our business partners may give us information about you, including contact, demographic and other personal information. These may include insurance providers, credit reporting agencies and other data companies. Social media platforms may also give us information about you.

Use of Personal Information

We use personal information to:

Respond to your requests or questions. For example, we and our business partners use your information to select and provide you with information about insurance products you may be interested in. We may also use your information to respond to your customer feedback.

Improve our products and services. We may use your information to make our website and products better, including to customize your experience with us.

For security purposesWe may use your information to protect our company and our customers. We also use information to protect our websites and apps.

For marketing purposesFor example, we might provide you with information, special offers, and advertisements about products. This information may be from or on behalf of insurance providers or other third parties. We might tell you about new features or updates. We may also allow our partners to provide you with information about new products and special offers, including offers for insurance products and services.

To calculate estimated insurance costs.  We or our business partners may use this estimate and your state of residence to select offers of insurance products and services which may be helpful for you.

With third parties who perform services on our behalf. For example, we share information with vendors who send emails for us. We may also share information with companies that help us operate the Website or app.

With our business partners and other third partiesThese partners, who include insurance companies and other third parties that may provide your information to insurance companies, may send you information about products and services by telephone, text, fax, mail or email. Insurance companies that receive your information may use it to assist in providing you offers for insurance, and may confirm your information through the use of a consumer reporting agency, which may include among other things, your driving record and/or credit score to determine eligibility and accurate rates. Additionally, the data provided to insurance companies, either directly by us or through other third parties, may include your driving history, “driving score” and “risk score” as calculated by us or other third parties, and as described above in the section above entitled

If we think we have to in order to comply with the law or to protect ourselvesFor example, we will share information to respond to a court order or subpoena. This may include information that is discoverable in connection with accident investigations, litigation or both. We may share it if a government agency or investigatory body requests. We might share information when we are investigating potential fraud.

With any successor to all or part of our businessFor example, if part of our business was sold we may give our customer list as part of that transaction.

  • Some of your information will be viewable by other users.If you review insurance companies on our site, your words and descriptions will be viewable by others.
  • We may also share aggregated or de-identified information, which cannot reasonably be used to identify you.
  • Without limiting the foregoing, you agree and consent that we may access, preserve, and disclose your information (including without limitation e-mails, contents of user accounts) at our sole discretion if we reasonably believe the disclosure is necessary to comply with (a) the legal process, (b) enforce this Privacy Policy, (c) respond to your requests for customer service, or (d) protect the rights, property, or personal safety of us or the public

Advertising and Analytics Services Provided by Others

We may allow others to serve advertisements on our behalf across the Internet and to provide analytics services.   These entities may use cookies, web beacons and other technologies to collect information about your use of the Services and other websites, including your IP address, web browser, pages viewed, time spent on pages, links clicked and conversion information.   This information may be used by ValChoice and others to, among other things, analyze and track data, determine the popularity of certain content, deliver advertising and content targeted to your interests on our Services and other websites and better understand your online activity. Your Choices Regarding How We Use Your Personal Information

You can opt out of receiving our marketing emails. To stop receiving our promotional emails, email customer support at webmaster@valchoice.com or follow the instructions in any promotional message you get from us. Even if you opt out of getting marketing messages, we will still send you transactional messages. These include responses to your questions. If you opt-out of receiving marketing communications from our business partners with whom we have shared your information, you will still receive marketing communications from us and any other business partners with whom your information was shared.

You can control tools on your mobile devicesFor example, you can turn off the GPS locator or push notifications on your phone through your phone’s settings.

Additional Matters

International visitors. ValChoice is located in the United States, and our Services are intended for United States residents.  Please be aware that any personal information that we collect will be transferred to and processed in the United States, and be subject to United States law.  The privacy and data protection laws in the United States may not be equivalent to the laws in your country of residence.

Children. Our Services are intended for adults, not children. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 16 without permission from a parent or guardian. If you are a parent or legal guardian and think your child under 13 has given us information, please email us.

Security of personal information.  Although we use reasonable efforts to safeguard your personal information, the internet is not completely secure, and we cannot promise that your use of our Services will be completely safe.

Third-party links.  If you click on a third-party link, you will be taken to another website or platform we do not control. This policy does not apply to the privacy practices of that website or platform. Read other companies’ privacy policies carefully. We are not responsible for these third parties.  Our site may also serve third-party content that contains their own cookies or tracking technologies.

Your California privacy rights. ValChoice does not disclose your personal information to third parties for the third parties’ direct marketing purposes unless you affirmatively agree to such disclosures.
