ObamaCare Enrollment Deadline Extended

The enrollment deadline for ObamaCare was extended by another 24 hours, giving Americans until midnight, December 24 to enroll. Everyone who enrolls by this deadline will have insurance complying with the Affordable Care Act  starting January 1, 2014.

Who does this deadline impact?

This impacts people who a) did not have insurance, or b) had their insurance policy cancelled as a result of the Affordable HealthCare act. If you have insurance and have not received a cancellation notice from your insurance company, you do not need to worry about this deadline.

As noted in the post yesterday, until the insurance exchange is proven to be secure, we recommend against using the healthcare.gov website. For an alternative, go to the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU) website. Their website will help you find a broker or agent in your area.
